Dear Esteemed AMO Participants, Guardians, Educators, and Country Council Partners,
We are thrilled to announce that the results for AMO 2023 are now available! A hearty congratulations to all 28,860 students from grades 2 through 12 representing 36 diverse nations who have participated in this enriching mathematical journey. Your enthusiasm and dedication have made this year’s competition a remarkable one.
Since our inception in 2006, we have strived to inspire a passion for mathematics through the AMO. The competition has now evolved to encompass a total of 19 contests covering a broad spectrum of disciplines including Science, Computational Thinking, Robotics, Informatics, Arts, and CyberSecurity. Added to this, we have started running RapidTech Challenge competitions with awards issued by the Centre for Nurturing Computing Excellence (CeNCE), National university of Singapore (NUS). This remarkable growth is a testament to your unwavering support.
This year, the SIMCC’s reach has extended to 45 countries, surpassing our goal three years earlier than planned, thanks to your collaboration. Our focus remains on providing unparalleled value to our students and educators. Highlights of our offerings include:
- The International Junior Honor Society (IJHS), which inducts students who accumulate 4 Scholarship Points (SPs) within an academic year. To date, we boast 6,935 proud IJHS members.
- Upcoming subsidies and scholarships dedicated to educators in recognition of their contribution and to support their professional development.
- Leadership grants and scholarships for students accumulating SPs, with more details available in our 2024 information pack.
We are excited to report that for countries with 500 or more AMO contestants, the top two achievers from grades 2 to 10/11 will be awarded the prestigious SMGF Platinum Contest Scholarship, providing a full scholarship to compete in the Global Finals Online on March 3, 2024. The next three highest scorers from these grades will receive the SMGF Gold Contest Scholarship, a 50% scholarship.
